The first curiosity... and fascinated, still

Saying For Today: I walk the Way with the curiosity of the child.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE

Saying: Walking the Way means not letting your dedication outrun your curiosity. If you do, you are in trouble. Living with the first curiosity, the Way remains ever-new, and you do, too.

A conversation between Raven and his disciple Grouse -

At a private meeting Grouse said, "I'm not sure that I am dedicated enough to my practice."

Raven said, "Never mind about being dedicated."

Grouse said, "The truth is, I haven't the foggiest idea of what the practice really is."

"Me, either," Raven said, "but aren't you curious?"

Grouse said, "Fascinated."

Raven said, "There you go."

I have engaged in daily renewal through spiritual practice for the last five decades... and I still do not know what it is. That is a reason the Way so fascinates me. I walk the Way with the curiosity of the child. If someone were to ask me, "Not knowing, why do you do it, then?" My reply, "Not knowing, why can I not not do it?" How about you?
